The Hiding Place of a Fountain

  • Mood:
  • Weather:
"Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak tenderly to her. And there I will give her her vineyards and make the Valley of Achor a door of hope. And there she shall answer as in the days of her youth, as at the time when she came out of the land of Egypt."

Israel was drawn into the Valley of Achor -- literally, the Valley of Trouble. But God made it a "door of hope." And He turned it to good.

Moses was stuck in the wilderness with a thirsty, crying people, and only rocks to keep him company. But God commanded water to come out of the rock. And He turned it to good.

Joseph was sold into slavery and thrown into prison. But God turned it to good.

Job lost mostly everything -- family, friends, livestock, health. But God turned it to good.

Whatever God is pruning away from you, whatever hard place He has brought you into, remember this: God will turn it to good.

"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good..."

"We never know where God hides His pools. We see a rock and we cannot guess it is the home of the spring. We see a flinty place and we cannot tell it is the hiding place of a fountain. God leads me into the hard places, and then I find I have gone into the dwelling place of eternal springs."

(Hosea 2:14-15; Romans 8:28; Streams in the Desert, July 5)

Again, I just love visiting here. Your post is so true, especially in my life! Whatever is wrong or bad in my life I know it will be turned to good! Amen! My saying is if God leads me to it, he'll surely lead me through it! Have a blessed day!
